User manual for the broadcast solution
This manual supports administrators and users with planning, installation, configuration, daily operation and troubleshooting of the broadcast solution.
For the initial rollout you need a valid license ID, a reachable Swyx / Enreach server, a privileged Swyx user and network access to the Alarm Manager web service. First download the setup file from Service and install SwyxRundrufService. Wait for the first service contact. Only then verify the Swyx credentials under Settings and run a test broadcast.
Requirements
- Windows system with rights to install and manage Windows services
- Reachable Swyx / Enreach server including administrative credentials
- License ID and service URL for the Alarm Manager web service connection
- Network permissions and firewall rules for web service, SIP and management access
Recommended Installation Location
The Swyx Rundruf Service should preferably be installed directly on the Swyx server. This installation option is usually the most reliable, as the service has direct access to the required Swyx components, configuration interfaces, and communication paths.
Installation on a separate PC or server is possible in principle. In this case, however, it must be ensured that this machine can fully reach the Swyx server over the network and that no firewall rules block the required communication.
Installation
- Download the current installation file SwyxRundrufServiceSetup.exe from the website and start it with administrative rights.
- The setup EXE checks the prerequisites, especially .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer, and then starts the installation wizard.
- Accept the license terms, select the installation path and enter the license ID.
- Finish the installation and verify that the SwyxRundrufService and SwyxRundrufUpdater services are installed and running.
- Wait until the website reports the first service contact. If no contact is reported, review the log file and the generated directories under ProgramData. Run the Swyx check only after a successful service contact.
Configuration
After SwyxRundrufService has contacted the website for the first time, configure the broadcast solution on the Settings page. There you maintain and verify the credentials for the Swyx / Enreach environment. The Swyx check cannot run without a reachable client service.
- SwyxServer: Name or IP address of the Swyx / Enreach server used for subscriber, group and broadcast function management
- SwyxUser: Swyx user with sufficient rights for login, group management and subscriber synchronization
- SwyxUserPassword: Password of the Swyx user in use; after changes, test the connection again
Operations
- Use the web application to select and manage groups, subscribers and broadcast functions.
- After changing groups or agents, confirm successful synchronization with the client.
- Start test, alarm, message or information broadcasts according to your operational scenario.
- Use history and status information to verify delivery and client availability.
- Enable ExtendedLogging when you need more detailed troubleshooting information.
Updates and maintenance
Service updates are provided centrally. New systems use the setup EXE SwyxRundrufServiceSetup.exe for initial installation. Existing clients download updates through the updater service, optionally validate the checksum and perform the update in a controlled process. After the update, review version, status and log files.
Troubleshooting
- No first service contact: check the installation and status of SwyxRundrufService and SwyxRundrufUpdater, the license ID, network access to the web service and the log files under ProgramData.
- Swyx login fails after a successful service contact: check SwyxServer, user, password, reachability and permissions.
- Broadcast reaches no subscribers: check agent, numbers, PIN, SIP reachability and audio file.
- For unclear issues, review the log files. Direct changes to settings.xml or the service URL should only be made in coordination with support.
Support
For support requests, provide the time of the issue, affected group, involved phone numbers, a short description and relevant log files. This speeds up analysis significantly.
